san fran was a total blast. we got to stay at this place called hotel tomo in japan town. all centered around japanese pop culture. i bought alot of japanese candy and bread at the market a block away, and ate nothing but japanese food the whole time i was gone (except for when we went to fishermans wharf). got back last night.
i just got back from watching a taping of a scene from 'till death with Brad Garrett [link]
it was a block from my house. my mom went for a walk to go get a soda, and they had turned this insurance place into a quicky mart (winky mart) just for the episode. she asked the guy if she could still get in there (she didn't know the store was a block further). so she called me and had me and blond go down there to check it out. they made it rain and it was him running to his tiny convertable and trying to get the hood up. but it's this tiny ass car (and Brad is a VERY big guy). it was hilarious!
------------------------------------------------------- it can only be two ways....i will either die...and therefore not be able to do art anymore.....or not be able to do art anymore and then die. i cannot imagine any other life.

Mmm...I love Japantown...there is this little restaurant there with the best domburi...and the candy store has these chestnut daifuku candy that is simply addictive. I am now, unfortunately, living on the opposite side of the country and have a much harder time getting there....

we didnt venture very far from out hotel sadly. there were soo many places to eat, and we ate twice at the one in our hotel. their specialty was shabu-shabu.
My friends and I went to Japan Town when we were in San Fan for an anime convention. Our schedual was really tight and we arrived at Japan town after 6pm only to discover everything was either closing or closed...we were so disapointed. There were only a couple of stores open in the mall so I bought a bunch of useless crap just for the heck of it since I knew we wouldn't have time to return. lol. It was still fun.
Sounds like you had a blast...did you pick up any Japanese pharaphenailia? (sp)
